Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte

It’s Pumpkin Season!  

That means all things pumpkin and pumpkin spice. It is fall’s signature squash and it really does pack some powerful nutrition and health perks! Now, I’m not talking about the syrup-y pumpkin flavored coffee drinks that you can find at every coffee shop in town. I’m talking about real, straight up pumpkin…combine that with the spices of the season and you get a wonderful option to boost your nutrient intake.


2 tablespoons canned pumpkin purée
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice 
2 cups milk, whole or dairy free version
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup freshly brewed coffee


1. In a small saucepan over medium heat,add all ingredients but coffee. Heat until mixture starts to steam, whisking constantly.  

2. Remove from heat and pour into blender.Cover lightly and blend for 15-30 seconds. Be careful when removing lid.  

3. Make the espresso or coffee. Divide coffee and milk mixture between 2 mugs. Top with extra milk foam, if desired, and sprinkle with some extra pumpkin spice.
